Maybe you are right that Darcy is indignant because there are no interesting conversations to listen to now the dancing has begun. He does seem to listen to conversations in public, rather than participate in them. Maybe Elizabeth is the cause of his indignation. Maybe it's a bit of both and we are both right?:-D

Your last paragraph made me smile - Darcy does seem a bit stupid to be indignant (whatever the cause) and yet do NOTHING about it..
