without seeming to have any intention of speaking   Written by Stephanie (4/14/2010 11:06 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, I didn't say Darcy was mortified, penned by Nina RG
Are you new?

I think you express yourself very clearly, and I can not bring up text to disprove your point, so perhaps we should just agree to disagree.

I will say that Darcy seems to LISTEN to conversations, as well as join them. Maybe he only joins them when they are of interest to himself? and that might have been his vexation at Sir William's. Now, everyone is either dancing, or talking about the dancing; no one is discussing the topics of the day, or new books, or whatever.

As I write this, I am struck again with his haughtiness. I mean, if I am right, he can start his own conversation! Actually, if you are right, he can start one with Elizabeth! Why he does not trouble himself, when the lack of such is raising his spleen, is a mystery!
