you would not wish to see your sister make such an exhibition   Written by Stephanie (4/14/2010 10:55 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Did Bingley's sisters get along well with each other? (long), penned by Anne-Marie
Are you new?

If you are going to describe whether familial relationships show fondness, why not include DARCY'S sibling?

I notice Miss Bingley, in an effort to get Mr. Darcy to agree with them that Elizabeth's walking was inappropriate, uses the ammunition of his sister's making a similar 'exhibition.' Darcy seems to agree, and then Miss Bingley's follow-up sally falls short. After all, whether it is well for one's sister to traipse about the country, unfit to be seen, and whether traipsing makes a lady's eyes more brilliant are strictly different questions! ;)

Notice, Darcy is still quite brave in sticking to his opinion in the face of Miss Bingley's catty remarks and snide innuendos.
