mean understanding, little information, and uncertain temper   Written by Stephanie (4/13/2010 3:25 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, mrs bennet, clever in a silly way?, penned by Akaruihi
Are you new?

I know someone who is extremely vexed that annoyingly silly Mrs. Bennett actually 'wins' - i.e., gets her own way! However, it is mainly her silliness he is reacting to. If you asked my friend if he approved of Jane and Bingley getting to know each other better, he says 'yes.' It is her total lack of class and self-congratulatory crowing that irritate him.

I admit, I have to discount her as a running gag (and literary mechanism) to take her over-the-top emotional opinions with a grain of salt.
