The flaw in Mrs. Bennet's thinking   Written by Anne-Marie (4/13/2010 2:51 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I am quite sure that she did not, penned by Kathleen Glancy
Are you new?

Yes, I agree she was thinking that if Jane went on horseback and it rained, the weather would force her to stay overnight and so she would be in Bingley's company for at least part of the time. But Jane was not prepared for an overnight stay. So if she got caught in the rain -- as she did -- she would be forced to borrow dry clothing from Louisa or Caroline, which might not fit her. In addition, her hair would be a mess. So she certainly would not appear to her best advantage when the gentlemen did show up.
