IMO Darcy would have talked more with Lizzy   Written by Adrian (4/13/2010 1:43 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Why do you think he was surprised, penned by Nina RG
Are you new?

I think Darcy was (at the time dancing started) pretty much beyond the point of listening in on Lizzy's conversation, first, because she caught him at it, and second, because his initial conversation was aborted by Charlotte's request for music.

I think Darcy was hoping to speak more with Lizzy; but after the awkward encounter with Sir William ended with Lizzy's refusing to dance with him, Darcy seems to have taken a step back (only to be waylaid by Caroline).
