will not leave Darcy alone, even with his thoughts, while she consistently pesters him with unwanted attention. She appears to be one of those who thinks that if they just keep at it long enough, the object of their affection will have a sudden change of heart and see them in a whole new light. That rarely works in real life. I feel that Darcy absolutely knows of Miss Bingley's feelings, is trapped temporarily in her company, and his trying to give her a signal to back off, he is not interested. However, that doesn't mean that his admiration for Lizzy's eyes isn't genuine -- she is obviously on his mind!
