it is so much about HOW Mrs. B. chatters on, so that even when she is telling 'happy' things (to her), she is still so, so irritating! Her initial raptures upon returning home must have taken up a full 15 lines of text, all in naming who danced with who and when...I cannot blame Mr. Bennet for not wanting to hear her go on with that all night (which she would easily do, if not stopped!) She is just one of those people whose mouth runs off with itself. I think Jane or Elizabeth's account of the evening would be of much more interest to him...and to me! But Lydia's or Mrs. B's, no!
