Actually, it was "two dances each"   Written by Graciela (4/12/2010 2:43 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Darcy was continually giving offence, penned by Stephanie
Are you new?

The custom was to dance a set of two dances at a time. That's why Mrs. Bennet says that after dancing with Charlotte, Bingley asked to be introduced to Jane, "and asked her for the two next. Then the two third he danced with Miss King, and the two fourth with Maria Lucas, and the two fifth with Jane again, and the two sixth with Lizzy and the Boulanger."(Ch. 3)

So Darcy danced four dances in total. (While Bingley danced twelve, not counting the Boulanger).
