Are you new?

Refusing to be introduced, was rude enough, and quite brings the point home without any further insults needed. His refusals to interact was in and of itself keeping a wall up between himself and whomever. Trying to make him unconscious of what he is doing is still a way of trying to excuse Darcy for behavior that he has had ingrained in him from babyhood to refrain from indulging in regardless of his feeling. As a gentleman, it just wasn't done.
