Sorry for that longish introductory message on the topic...

In the course of the 1st 12 chapters, we spend some time at Netherfield in company with the Bingley family.
Reading the book again, I can't help wondering until how late the evenings last.

1st evening described in detail in chapter 8 is wednesday when Lizzie has come to attend to her sister.
At 5 o' the ladies dress for dinner
At 6.30 they have dinner (how long does it last?)
Then Elizabeth goes to Jane's room where she is joined by the sisters (after allowing them time enough for abusing her however)
Then the Bingley sister are summoned for coffee and Lizzie joins them "late in the evening".
Yet they have time enough for a longish conversation with the gentlemen.
Elizabeth repairs to her room afterwards and still has time enough to inform the sisters (still in the drawing room)that Jane is worse.

Thursday evening (chapter 10): we have little indications about the passing of time. Darcy's letter (quite a long time since he keeps being interrupted by the rapturous Caroline), then music.

Friday evening (ch 11) after dinner which supposedly Jane does not attend. The Bennet sisters come down (it must have taken some time before they do so since Jane does not strike me as a very lively person, and cannot be so when she has been unwell for a few days)
A whole hour is spent by the ladies before the gentlemen join them (BTW, what do they do meanwhile?)
At least half an hour is spent with the gentlemen before tea (Tea, not coffee ?), then conversation (Is Jane still in the room? She is not mentioned any longer)
