It was almost like making sure everyone hears what the ghost has to say so that Manfred does not get up to anymore tricks (though I do think he was beyond it by now).

Personally I was quite happy with the ghost, because the ghost was able to tie up the lose ends ;-)

I was also impressed with the 'cowl-wearing' apparition.
This is still used in modern day thrillers.:-D
