Rebel   Written by Robbin (1/31/2006 3:53 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Catherine's similarity to..., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

It seemed for a while that Isabella was a bit of a rebel, running away from Manfred’s passions instead of submitting to his “manly” wisdom but I am not assured that her fate was a good one. Accepted by Theodore because she knew Matilda is kind of a sad basis for a marriage—I am not sure JA would approve. Is just having him enough for her? Poor dear we are not even told if she is happy at the end or if she is just doing her duty as all good women should?! Catherine was a rebel in the respect that she did not do what her brother, Isabella and John Thorpe wanted her to when she knew it was wrong. :D
