Hippolita gives several speaches of the "women are not made to decide for themselves--they must let their husbands/fathers choose for them" genre. I'm wondering if HW is playing this up to mock, or is he putting them there as a moral and example for proper young ladies to follow? It's interesting to me that he himself never married, so where is he getting all this "submission" doctrine from?
