The resemblance to portraits are...   Written by Reeba (1/25/2006 4:42 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Resemblance to Portrait, penned by Danielle17
Are you new?

such an integral part of the Gothic novel. In Udolpho Emily bears a striking resemblance to a portrait in the 'locked up' rooms - turns out she is the aunt.

Can't wait to find out the relationship between Theodore and Alphonso.
Does it mean that Otranto is perhaps Theodore's?
Manfred ought to be in a fit , but then he hasn't noted the resemblance.

Is that because only the women noticed such things and not men?

But if Theodore is Father Jerome's son, and resembles Alphonso then the friar ought to know who Alphonso is.

Yes, the plot thickens ;-)
