Mathilda and Theodore   Written by Cheryl (1/25/2006 3:24 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Resemblance to Portrait, penned by Danielle17
Are you new?

I thought that the peasant was going to wind up with Isabella - he helped her escape, vowed to die for her, etc. But all this with the portrait does make it seem that Theodore and Mathilda will be a couple. Apparently, vowing to die for every damsel in distress is just another trait of the true hero. :)

It seemed clear in the first chapter that we had two heroines, but so far, I only see one hero prospect. Will we be introduced to another in a future chapter or will Isabella really take the veil?

Danielle, you're going to enjoy NA so much more having read CofO first. JA takes such delight in skewering all these gothic conventions, you can't help but laugh. :)
