Making it true' makes things more interesting, is perhaps what Catherine Morland was doing subconciously when she was trying to apply gothic fantasy to reality.

Similarly, if the contents of CoO were to be true, our attitudes would have been different.

I'll never be able to keep a straight face, when looking at a helmet in the future ;-)
