The vaulted cieling in Horace's gallery was inspired by the fan vaulting in Henry VII's chapel in Westminster Abbey.

The fan vaulting at Strawberry Hill was made out of papier mache by Thomas Bromwich ,an 18th century expert in working in that medium.
