Horrid hopes can be funny!   Written by LaurieC (1/23/2006 9:53 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Just remembered another one., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

In this first chapter, I would be reading along and suddenly come across a comment that would just tickle me. On the very last page of the chapter, Manfred has this hysterical thought process:

"Presuming on the unshaken submission of Hippolita, he flattered himself that she would not only acquiese with patience to a divorce, but would obey, if it was his pleasure, in endeavouring to persuade Isabella to give him her hand--But ere he could indulge this horrid hope, he reflected that Isabella was not to be found."

Oh, d'oh, guess he needs to find her first, LOL!
