I kept making comparisons to Hamlet   Written by Kelley B (1/23/2006 1:36 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, It does seem stagey doesn't it?, penned by Laraine
Are you new?

And now I understand why. Even the language seemed similar to Shakespeare although I imagine that's because of the time it was written in more so than the style. Throw in some death, a ghost, and a royal villain and you've got yourself a production!

The structure of the writing also seemed to scream "theater" and not prose. The descriptions we get seem to be just enough to get a picture of the setting, but no more. Like we were looking at a stage. Then the dialogue comes with little to no explanation of feelings, inner thoughts, motives, etc. So we're relying on actions and setting alone.
