I couldn't help but laugh at some of the obvious gothic elements. I think it has to do with the fact that I have read NA so many times and it is a paradoy that makes us want to laugh at these things. So when I read them, I'm thinking about the ridiculous as pointed out by Jane Austen via Henry Tilney and his merry cast.
