The General's renovations; Frederick's heartlessness; etc   Written by Cathy Allen (4/28/2012 2:42 p.m.)
Are you new?

I'm almost finished reading Amanda Grange's retelling of NA, Henry Tilney's Diary and I think, as in ALL her other JA "Hero" diaries, she has again nailed JA's characters perfectly! I've not found ANYTHING that I feel is out of character; on the contrary, she has imagined some great background for them. It is delightful how she brings into her retelling some tidbit of information that JA casually dropped about someone. I've always enjoyed Eleanor and Henry's relationship, and there are some great bits written about it. I could go on and on, but I won't. Suffice it to say that it makes a great companion piece to JA's wonderfully funny "gothic" novel.
