Maybe the adaptors thought a modern audience would think less of the pain it would cause Catherine to be the source of a rift between father and son and more of the pleasure it would give her to know Henry stuck up for her. Or maybe they didn’t understand the position that information would have put Catherine in and didn’t know any better than to place it where


they did.

-I always wonder about stuff like that in adaptions.
