I so enjoyed reading about Catherine's visits to the Allens once she returned home. Mr. Allen is all that is kind and caring, as always, and Mrs. Allen is just as oblivious as she's always been, repeating Mr. Allen's opinions as they are, "quite good enough to be immediately made use of again by herself." LOL!
And then, of course, the conversation goes straight back to her clothes. Then her statement that it was meeting Mrs. Thorpe that turned things around for them in Bath, completely unaware that to Catherine's mind it was meeting Henry that had been the turning point. Clueless, clueless, clueless.
Finally, when Henry and Catherine go visit her, coming to their own understanding on the way over there, we're told that "Henry talked at random without sense or connection". Perfect company for Mrs. Allen, indeed!
