Heroic Henry forgives and forgets - What a clergyman!   Written by jeffrey (4/23/2012 9:45 a.m.)
Are you new?

It appears that Henry will make an ideal clergyman because he models the Christian virtue of forgiving and forgetting. How many men could perform this single admonishment of Catherine's discovered foolishness and never make mention of it again? Henry's carefully chosen and effective words caused Catherine's immediate repentance and the absolute end to her speculative fantasies.

From Ch 25:
"...Henry’s astonishing generosity and nobleness of conduct, in never alluding in the slightest way to what had passed, was of the greatest assistance to her..."

As the Bible says, "Love covers a multitude of sins" because Henry is in love with Catherine, His "diamond in the rough."

Forgiving then forgetting could be anybody's most difficult task but that is what makes Henry such an admirable hero because he succeeds at it.
