I love that word to describe John Thorpe, it's so apropos. He just seems to be an annoying noise maker. And definitely a very deceitful one! It's amazing how he just says whatever is going to serve him best at the moment, with absolutely no thought to anyone else.

I went to visit Blaise Castle when I lived in Bath and if you see it you understand even more what a liar he is - it's just a little sham castle. I thankfully knew before I went, but poor Catherine would have been very disappointed!
