The incurable romantic in me interprets this wonderful introductory dialogue and especially the paragraph that Helen Kaye has highlighted to ask this question: Do you think our dear Henry is already quite taken by Catherine's naive artlessness? He wants to get better acquainted and introduces the concept of "intimacy" to Catherine. I'd say Mr. Tilney is looking for a wife while Miss Morland is clueless yet.
