Are you new?

I was speaking of the preface written by Author Austen herself. She told the reader that the manuscript had been written many years before, and that some of the mores might therefore be outdated. It was written by her after her brother completed the re-purchase of the manuscript.

Naturally, this does not mean that she made no alterations to the novel, like changing Catherine's father's name, and adding a slight dig. Thank you for correcting my mistaken memory about her 'biased history,' too.
