Accidental focus: Thorpe and the General   Written by TimLee (3/29/2009 6:43 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, So how did you do with your focus?, penned by Lynn
Are you new?

I had not intended any focus in this GR, but just wanted to enjoy the ride. Then I found myself noticing things about two of CM's Nemesises (pardon the word construction), Thorpe and the General.

They both talk at length without meaning exactly what they say, and are both taken with Catherine based on false understandings. They each also manage to get in the way of Catherine's relationship with Henry. Very interesting use of character when they are are also dissimilar in a lot of ways as well.
