in consequence of the missive, Catherine's visit to Woodston, penned by JoAnn
My favourite detail of this kind, though, is in Chapt. 23, when, at NA, Catherine comes upon a "dark little room, owning Henry's authority, and strewed with his litter of books, guns, and great-coats". I like it because there's this sort of manly aura about the whole thing, adding a bit more oomph to our picture of Henry. Also, the "litter" ties in nicely with the image of Henry's dogs at Woodston, another detail I really like. |
