And this is what makes NA so difficult to adapt.   Written by Adrian (3/26/2009 1:09 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, This is what I love about the narrator's voice in this book, penned by JoAnn
Are you new?

So much of the humor is the author's explaining what is not happening, what is not going according to the expectations of a Gothic novel. Most of the story proceeds conventionally (give or take caricatures like the Thorpes), while the author layers her irony, satire, parody, and humor on top of the account.

Given the current tendency of films to avoid narrative voice-overs (thankfully), this makes adapting this work a real challenge.
