Reading JA before watching the movie adaptations   Written by Cathy Allen (3/26/2009 11:36 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Don't let that worry you!, penned by Line
Are you new?

Exactly so, Line! I appreciate JA's incredible talent so much more after having only seen the adaptations. There's nuance in every sentence; she never wasted a word! It is such a pleasure to read her books, especially AFTER having only seen the movies!

I have to keep reminding myself that they are different media, and we have to make allowances for that. Aren't we lucky to live in an age when we have the choice of which we want?

I'd still recommend reading before watching, though, if possible.
