It's a real glimpse into Henry, isn't it? He does have an interest in his home there, and in the gardens, etc. I suspect he would spend a great deal more time there if he did not feel badly for Eleanor being at home alone so often. (or at least alone with the General!).

I, too, think it is so interesting the play between Catherine and the General! I love how Catherine picks up on his hints finally and then refuses to say more!!
