Very much inclined to agree   Written by Tarn (3/26/2009 5:33 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Who pays Henry´s income, by the way?, penned by MarianneR
Are you new?

The General has enormous grounds and lives very close to Woodstone, and he is avaricious (in spite of his wealth and Catherine's impressions).

If Woodston is in his gift, what could be more natural than his bestowing it on his second son, ensuring the parsonage (and the parson) remain effectively under his management, and securing a good income for Henry; or at least, the greatest flexibility for himself when it came to determining what tithes should be paid?
