Are you new?

in Hereford, does Catherine believe that? Is she still that naive (especially given that, when she hears cautious footsteps outside her door, she makes a point of reminding herself not to let her imagination run wild - for which I commend her!)? Or does she see that it's just a cover for throwing her out and just doesn't want to hurt Eleanor's feelings by letting on that she knows?
