by the end of the book - she's come to learn that not everyone is as good as she and her family are. Not so sure about James.

I was really struck by the Morland family's reaction to Catherine's return home and hearing what had happened to her - it became very clear where she and James have gotten their all-goodness view of the world! Any other parents would have reacted much worse to the affront given their daughter, not to mention the danger she was put in. But took such a mellow "live and learn" attitude, reluctant to place more than just a little "he must be a dreadful person" on the guilty party. I picture them as the laid-back, hippie type, or whatever the regency equivalent was. :-)
