Are you new?

He is at Bath because his father wanted him there. He says, "How glad I shall be when you are all gone" or something to that effect. He's there to have fun if he can, not to find a wife, so he's just having fun with Isabella because that's all, to him, that he is good for.

That's just my take. If he were looking for a wife, he'd be looking for a vastly different kind of woman and be acting completely differently.
