What exactly is Henry´s duty as a parson?   Written by MarianneR (3/24/2009 5:08 p.m.)
Are you new?

I didn´t find the first reference in the book to Henry´s occupation, so I don´t really know whether he is a parson or just a curate. But it struck me, that we never hear of him leading a Sunday service. Instead we read in ch.26: "I must be at Woodston on Monday to attend the parish meeting, and shall probably be obliged to stay two or three days.” IIRC there is another instance where he has to attend a meeting. We never read of his visiting the poor or similar activities I would expect of a country parson. Could anybody clear this up for me?

Thanks.
