Are you new?

I wonder if that does not make me as uncomfortable anymore because I've read it several times? But it has always bothered me that she is thwarted in her efforts to get together with people who are so obviously more her equals than the Thorpes are.

Do you think it is because we want her to be stronger than she is? She is not very experienced socially, so doesn't know how to resist the peer pressure as easily. Why do you think that part especially bothers us?
