... I was imagining it as perhaps worse than the Bedford itself was. And I forgot about the billiards room next to GT's bedroom!

I agree with those who doubt whether John Thorpe would have won such a game if it took place though.

Several posts (including this section) remind me of the set of similarities between GT & the Thorpe family; while higher class in some ways, GT is the same kind of money-hungry conniver as they are.
