I just realised that it's the Morlands...   Written by Reeba (3/21/2009 11:48 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Only assumptions I should say..., penned by MarianneR
Are you new?

who are assumed to be rolling in money by John Thorpe.

I seem to have been quoting NA1 earlier

CH 11
"if people who rolled in money could not afford things, he did not know who could, "

-during the ride to Blaize castle.

So the look that the General throws in Catherine's direction is most definitely 'about' her and what else could it have been but money - and that they were rolling in it.

To me it seems like a similar showing off (as his knowledge of books earlier on) about his aquaintance with rich people.
