MP read by Maureen O'Brien   Written by nan duval (3/21/2009 8:30 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Listening versus private reading, penned by Cathy Allen
Are you new?

I've listened to it a couple of times & enjoyed it very much. Her "baseline" voice is pleasant & she differentiates the characters well.

If I had unlimited time I would read and listen to everything--(yes a tad grandiose), & when I've had the opportunity to do both, I find that my appreciation for the book is increased; I think the brain pathways of hearing & seeing process things differently, & using both helps to augment the enjoyment. However, since my time is rather limited, so far I've had to settle for both on Austen & either for other literature.
I've always loved reading aloud & being read to. I find it a nice way to get literature into a relationship, & when another person is reading to me, or vice versa, a way to have a very immediate discussion of critical passages. Alas, I can seldom get this to happen, so audiobook technology has been an immense source of increased enjoyment of books.
