Sympathetic early rising   Written by TimLee (3/20/2009 12:48 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Two passages I can't understand, penned by JoAnn
Are you new?

I think the General wants Catherine to follow his example (i.e., act in "sympathy" with his habits) and get up earlier for breakfast. (Sympathy: Harmonious agreement; accord. Dictionary.com.)

Tim

P.S. I get up awfully early myself, so this is yet something else I have in common with the General. He better turn out to be a good guy, or I'm in a world of hurt.
