Changing the subject (in ch24, not in this thread)   Written by Tom P2 (3/18/2009 4:06 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Default emotion, penned by Julia Catherine
Are you new?

Well put. Catherine's out-of-character behaviour causes Henry's astonishment.

I was struck on this read by Catherine's repeated attempts to change the subject, and Henry's perseverance in returning to her apparent interest in his mother. The subject-changing maintains the guilt-ridden appearance.

This bit is very apt and well-drawn: She raised her eyes towards him more fully than she had ever done before. I'm only semi-familiar with the word 'catharsis', but I think it could be applied to the mood of this scene.
