What about Eleanor. She is intelligent, well read, genteel, kind, discrete, lost her mother when she was 14, grew up in an ABBEY, & spends a lot of time alone with the General whose pamphlet reading suggests some unsavory characteristics, & even when he's trying his darndest to show Catherine a good time, manages to smother all mirth & gaiety.

Sorry to be posting so much tonight. I just wanted to see what others are thinking about these things.
