I also tend to think Jane had her brother Henry Austen in mind. You may remember from the movie Becoming Jane and from reading about Jane Austen's life that Henry married their "French" cousin Eliza. Jane spent quite a bit of time with Henry even in London. So she probably has him in mind for this close relationship between brother and sister.
