... the brother/hero who has the best relationship with his sister is named Henry (not to denigrate other filial relationships, like Darcy and Georgiana). Henry and Eleanor are closest in temperament and taste of all brother/sister combos. I think Jane Austen was making a statement by naming this hero after her favorite (I know I may be presumptuous here) brother. To me, there has always been too close a resemblance between "O what a Henry" and "Is there a Henry" to conclude otherwise.

P.S. Now that I think of it, Isabella and John Thorpe are quite similar to one another in temperament and taste also. It would be interesting to know if there is a story behind their names.
