...making jokes about the general preceived ignorance and stupidity of women. He is accustomed to joking with his sister and she assures Catherine to not take him seriously-that he does not mean what he says..He enjoyes his joke but would not be interested in a really ignorant or stupid woman. You can see both brother and sister find Catherine refreshing and engaging.
