I've always taken it to mean   Written by CarolTS (3/15/2009 1:47 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Ch 15: significant looks and mysterious expressions, penned by Karen G.
Are you new?

That Anne and Maria weren't told anything about what was happening (perhaps because it might not happen? Like Catherine, I have a hard time understanding why) and they knew there was a secret they were being excluded from. The others in the family teased them with this fact, but they countered it by claiming they did know it just refused to say outloud what it was.

Catherine thinks this is a strange type of family behavior and I must admit - I agree with her. She should be worried, imo, about what type of wife Isabella will make for James with this type of behavior being exhibited.
