I think JA is having a nice laugh about what she sees common. (I think of Mr. Bennet's comment about many men preferring a stupid wife -- surely he rued that himself!) The list of men (previously in this thread) who married silly wives, I argue, are none of them "men of sense" nor meant to be examples of a real hero.

Catherine is young and ignorant, and naive, but Henry is thrilled to find she has much natural sense of beauty just from a few minutes' lesson on drawing. She's a quick learner. I say Henry isn't falling into the foolish group -- yes, he enjoys teaching Catherine, but he also enjoys seeing her learn.

And he loves his smart sister.
